I started my professional adventure with the English language by working as a Project Manager at one of the foreign language centres in Wrocław. Although I was not doing any translations at the time, I was responsible for managing translation projects, which gave me direct insight into the translation industry.
After some time, I decided that I would like to join the group of translators whose work I had observed while working as a Project Manager. As a result, I became an In-House Translator at one of the largest translation agencies in Poland. Working full-time at a translation agency was an incredible adventure, mainly because of the variety of texts I had the opportunity to translate. It often happened that one day I would translate a marketing presentation, the next day a financial report, and the third day subtitles for a film. I also verified the translations of other translators and post-edited machine translations. In addition, I managed the language resources used for computer-assisted translation.
I forgot to mention that all this time my dream was to become a sworn translator. Therefore, after successfully passing the exam and receiving my seal, I began to support law enforcement authorities, public administration authorities, companies and individual clients in the field of sworn translations. Since then, I have been translating civil status records, notarial deeds, diplomas, tax returns and court documents on a daily basis. I also get an extra adrenaline rush from interpreting in courtrooms, police stations and notary offices, as well as during business meetings and industry conferences.
